Bike Buddy confirms that the utmost care will be exercised during the transportation of bicycles to and from races within South Africa.
Liability Disclaimer:
Bike Buddy will not be liable for any action, damage, claim, theft, cost, or expense arising directly or indirectly from any act and/or omission on the part of Bike Buddy, its employees, and/or agents (including negligence or gross negligence), except to the extent impermissible under the Consumer Protection Act.
Bike Buddy is not liable for claims or damages resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to war, strikes, riots, crime, or acts of God (e.g., storms, floods, earthquakes).
Insurance:
It is the client’s responsibility to secure sufficient insurance cover for their bicycle while in the custody of Bike Buddy.
Bike Buddy does not provide or arrange insurance for clients’ bicycles, however, we do have Good-in-Transit Insurance for what it’s worth
Dropping Off the Bikes
Preparation:
It is not necessary to unclip the front wheel of your bike or wrap your bicycle as each bicycle will be standing in it’s own rack, secured by the rack brackets and straps.
All removable devices, such as speedometers, cadence meters, heart rate monitors, and water bottles, must preferably be removed before drop-off as any loose item that might get loose or drop to the floor, might be lost.
Commitment to Care:
Bike Buddy recognizes the value of bicycles and guarantees to handle them with the utmost care, as if they were their own.
Ownership
Bicycle Ownership:
Ownership of the bicycle remains with the client at all times and is not transferred to Bike Buddy during the transportation process.
Transport Material:
Bike Buddy retains ownership of all materials used during transportation, including items such as cardboard boxes, strapping material, and identification stickers.

Client-Initiated Cancellations:
Cancellations made more than 14 days before the race date (30 days for the Cape Town Cycle Tour) will be issued a voucher of equal value, valid for 12 months.

Race Organizer Cancellations/Postponements:
If an event is cancelled, the cancellation policy above applies.
If an event is postponed, bicycle transport bookings will be carried over to the new event date or in certain cases a refund might be paid out.
No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to natural disasters or emergencies unless specifically arranged with the owners of Bike Buddy.
